Championship disciplines:

  • Linefollower – line-following robots. The robot's task is to complete the given track (a black line on a white surface) as quickly and accurately as possible.
  • Mini Sumo – positioned as the smallest but not the weakest sumo robots.
  • Lego Sumo – capable of surprising with their versatility.
  • iRobot Sumo – creatively modified vacuum robots designed to fight in the ring.
  • Folkrace – robots compete on an obstacle course that only the most skillful and clever robots can complete.
  • Drones – the pilot must be skilled enough to navigate an obstacle course with a flying drone robot.
  • Freestyle – a category where participants can demonstrate robotics achievements with LEGO or free-construction solutions.
  • Robot battle (Antweight) – a robot competition discipline in which robots are remote-controlled.
  • Mega sumo - 3 kg robots on a metal ring with more than 200 kg of pulling force! Strength and power!
  • VEX IQ – participants must solve tasks prepared for the competition.
  • WEDO – intended for younger students whose robots compete in speed and strength.
  • FLL Challenge – a discipline where participants build and program a LEGO robot to complete game missions.
  • Dragrace – the robot's task is to drive the straight track from start to finish as fast as possible and stop at the end without exiting the finish zone.
  • Relay discipline – two robots working as a team must deliver a given object from start to finish by following a line. NEW!
  • RC Mini Sumo – remote-controlled mini sumo robots. NEW!

Attention Lego discipline participants (!!!):

  1. A participant as an operator may be registered in only one Lego Sumo discipline and only for one robot;
  2. A Lego Sumo robot receives a loss if, during a match, a part heavier than 5 g detaches and falls outside the ring, except if the part remains on the ring—in that case, no loss is assigned;
  3. Turning a tire inside out (with the inner side outward) and/or placing it on top of another tire already mounted on the wheel is prohibited;
  4. During a single Lego Sumo match (best of 3), intentional replacement of parts or adding new parts to the robot’s construction is prohibited, except if a part has broken, in which case the replacement part must be identical to the broken one;
  5. If a Lego Sumo robot does not move within 10 seconds after the referee’s start signal, the robot receives a loss.

Pay attention to changes regarding robot dimensions:
(!) In the student Lego Sumo up to 12 age group, robot dimensions may be up to 20x20x30 cm.
(!) In the student Lego Sumo 13+ years and PRO groups, robot dimensions may be up to 15x15x20 cm.
*The robot may increase its size after the start by no more than 10 cm from its initial dimensions.

In both Lego Sumo student age groups, only specific official and licensed but unmodified LEGO parts included in the following robotics kits—NXT 2.0, EV3, Spike, or Inventor (https://www.pvg.edu.lv/robotika/2023/Documents/LEGO_parts.pdf)—may be used. Parts not included in these kits are prohibited. In the Lego Sumo PRO group, there are no restrictions on part selection, but all parts must be official and licensed LEGO parts, and may not be modified (cut, glued, sanded, etc.).

Participation in the event is free of charge; the number of team members and participant age limits depend on the discipline in which the robot is registered. In several disciplines, participants are divided by age and proficiency groups.

Photography and filming will take place during the event. By registering and participating, participants give consent to being photographed and filmed.

For participants’ comfort, it is strongly recommended to bring indoor shoes.

Classrooms will be available for participants to prepare their robots. If necessary, please bring power extension cords, as classrooms may lack sufficient outlets. We will not be able to provide extension cords.

Mini Sumo and iRobot Sumo participants must bring gloves and, when their robot is not in the ring, must ensure safe blade covers to avoid injuring other participants!

In the Mini Sumo student group robots will start with a button, while in the Mini Sumo PRO group they will start with a remote control.

In line-following disciplines, there will be a maximum of 4 attempts!

In folkrace disciplines, the duration of 1 race is 2 minutes!
