Sigulda Robot Cup – February 23rd, 2019

We are encouraging to apply for participation to Sigulda Robot Cup, which will happen on the 23rd  of February 2018 at Sigulda Sports Centre, Ata Kronvalda iela 7A.

Aim of event is to encourage youth and students to participate in engineering and robotics.

PARTICIPANTS

Participants are different students from technical youth clubs and robotics enthusiasts which are divided into three age groups:
1) 1.-5. grade students (13 years and younger),
2) 6.-12. grade students (14-19 years),
3) students and amateurs.

If any of disciplines in any age groups will have small number of participants, then competition will be in mixed age groups. Precise age group division in each discipline will be announced on 23rd of February after registration.

Competition time plan and age group divisions will be published on event site.

DISCIPLINES

Competition disciplines are divided into two categories LEGO robots and Free construction electronics robots.

Disciplines in LEGO group (Mindstorms NXT2.0 and EVE 3.0):

  • LEGO Sumo
  • LEGO Folkrace
  • LEGO Linefollowing
  • LEGO Linelabyrinth

Disciplines in Free construction electronic robots:

  • MINI Sumo
  • Folkrace
  • Linefollowing
  • Linefollowing  PRO (with turbines)
  • iRobot Sumo
  • Linelabyrinth
  • VEX
  • Drone challenge
  • MAKEblock challenge
  • Freestyle

Participation in this event is free of charge and there are no limits to the number of registered robots, team size or age of the participant.

Robots can be registered until the 20th February. We strongly encourage that you register in time, so we can plan the competition timetable precisely.

Photographing and filming will happen at the event. Participation in the event means the participants are giving the consent of photographing and filming.

Participants must bring change shoes.

Participants will have access to preparation space.

Mini sumo and iRobot sumo participants must have gloves and at the time, when the robot is not on the ring, use a protector on the blades, in order to prevent others from injuries.
